Arcangeli’s Type Discrepancy Principles for a Class of Regularization Methods Using a Modified Projection Scheme

چکیده
Solodkiı̆ (1998) applied the modified projection scheme of Pereverzev (1995) for obtaining error estimates for a class of regularization methods for solving ill-posed operator equations. But, no a posteriori procedure for choosing the regularization parameter is discussed. In this paper, we consider Arcangeli’s type discrepancy principles for such a general class of regularization methods with modified projection scheme.

A Third-degree B-spline Collocation Scheme for Solving a Class of the Nonlinear Lane–-Emden Type Equations
In this paper, we use a numerical method involving collocation method with third B-splines as basis functions for solving a class of singular initial value problems (IVPs) of Lane--Emden type equation. The original differential equation is modified at the point of singularity. The modified problem is then treated by using B-spline approximation. In the case of non-linear problems, we first line...
متن کاملThe discretized discrepancy principle under general source conditions
We discuss adaptive strategies for choosing regularization parameters in TikhonovPhillips regularization of discretized linear operator equations. Two rules turn out to be entirely based on the underlying regularization scheme. Among them only the discrepancy principle allows to search for the optimal regularization parameter from the easiest problem. This possible advantage cannot be used with...
متن کاملA Discrepancy Principle for Tikhonov Regularization with Approximately Specified Data
Many discrepancy principles are known for choosing the parameter in the regularized operator equation (T T + I)x = T y , ky ?y k , in order to approximate the minimal norm least-squares solution of the operator equation Tx = y. In this paper we consider a class of discrepancy principles for choosing the regularization parameter when T T and T y are approximated by A n and z n respectively with ...
متن کاملParameter Choice Strategies for Multipenalty Regularization
The widespread applicability of the multi-penalty regularization is limited by the fact that theoretically optimal rate of reconstruction for a given problem can be realized by a oneparameter counterpart, provided that relevant information on the problem is available and taken into account in the regularization. In this paper, we explore the situation, where no such information is given, but st...

The methods applied to regularization of the ill-posed problems can be classified under “direct” and “indirect” methods. Practice has shown that the effects of different regularization techniques on an ill-posed problem are not the same, and as such each ill-posed problem requires its own investigation in order to identify its most suitable regularization method. In the geoid computations witho...
